Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our natural wellness products and how to use them.
What is transdermal magnesium and how does it work?
Transdermal magnesium is magnesium that absorbs through the skin rather than being taken orally. When applied as a cream or used in bath salts, magnesium can be absorbed directly into the muscles and tissues where it's needed. Many people find this method gentler on the digestive system and effective for targeted relief of muscle tension and discomfort.
What ingredients do you use in your products?
We use whole, naturally-sourced ingredients including minerals like magnesium chloride, botanical herbs, carrier oils, and beeswax. Every ingredient is chosen for its purity and function. We avoid synthetic fragrances, artificial preservatives, and unnecessary additives. You can find the full ingredient list on each product page.
Are your products safe to use?
Our products are made with food-grade and cosmetic-grade natural ingredients that have been used safely for generations. However, we always recommend doing a small patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin. If you have specific health conditions or are pregnant, please consult with your healthcare provider before using any new wellness products.
How should I use magnesium cream?
Apply a small amount of magnesium cream to clean skin, focusing on areas of muscle tension such as shoulders, neck, back, or legs. Massage gently until absorbed. Many people use it before bed to support relaxation and restful sleep. Start with a small amount and increase as desired.
Do you ship products?
Yes, we ship throughout the United States. Products are carefully packaged to maintain quality during transit. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.
How are your products made?
Each product is handcrafted in small batches on our Arizona homestead. We use traditional apothecary methods combined with modern understanding of how these ingredients support the body. Small-batch production allows us to maintain quality control and ensure freshness.
What makes your products different from store-bought alternatives?
Our products are made by hand in small batches using whole ingredients, not mass-produced with synthetic fillers. Ashley's background in biology and over a decade of cancer research shapes every formulation. This is traditional herbal knowledge grounded in real science, not guesswork. Every product comes from the life we're building on our residential homestead in Arizona, and Ashley uses them daily herself.
How should I store the products?
Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Our creams and balms are best kept at room temperature. Bath salts should be kept sealed to prevent moisture absorption. Check individual product pages for specific storage recommendations.
Do you offer refunds or returns?
Due to the handmade nature of our products, we cannot accept returns on opened items. If you receive a damaged product or have concerns about your order, please contact us and we'll work to make it right.
What does "Mint 2 Bee" mean?
It's our take on "meant to be." The name ties together mint, one of the foundational herbs in natural wellness, with the homestead life we're building. "From the Earth, as it was Mint 2 Bee" is our way of saying these ingredients and this lifestyle were always meant to go together.
Are you against modern medicine?
Not at all. We believe modern medicine is important and has its place. Our approach is to start with natural, science-supported practices when possible, and to know when the situation calls for something more. Ashley's background is in biology and cancer research. Science informs everything we do.
Where do you source your ingredients?
We use whole, naturally-sourced ingredients, some gathered ourselves, others sourced from suppliers we trust. Every ingredient is chosen for purity and function. We list everything on our product pages, and our ingredients page explains what each one does and why we use it.
How long do your products last?
Shelf life varies by product. Our creams and balms are best used within 6-12 months of purchase. Tinctures last longer due to the alcohol or glycerin base. Bath salts keep well in a sealed container. Check individual product pages for specific guidance.
Can I visit the homestead?
We're a residential homestead, so we're not set up for visitors at this time. But we share the homestead journey online. Follow us on Instagram (@mint2bees_homestead) to see the day-to-day reality of what we're building.
